What It's All About?
The Student Program

Thanks for expressing an interest in Decode Mental Health & Wellbeing, our high-quality, evidence-based program for students and teachers. We're excited to have you join us on our journey to help build resilience, empathy, and understanding in our youth.

With 16 video-led lessons at each year level from Year 5 to Year 8, Decode provides a consistent and cyclical learning programme that builds on students’ knowledge and guides them towards mastery.

Mental health concerns in students are often hard to recognise and deal with effectively. Providing students with the tools to be resilient, empathetic, and aware is one of the most effective ways to promote student wellbeing and integrate good strategies into adolescence and beyond.

Decode for Teachers is a professional development program that provides teachers with the tools to help manage student mental health and wellbeing.

There are six topics in this series, including the four key topics from the student course and bonus topic “Gender identity and sexuality”. 

The course includes a series of podcasts that are featured in the four-and-a-half-hour self-paced, interactive lessons, covering common classroom hypotheticals, and self-reflection questions.

Professor Harriet Hiscock

Decode for Teachers Podcast Co-Host. Professor Hiscock is a consultant paediatrician and National Health and Medical Research Council Practitioner Fellow. She has published over 180 peer reviewed papers and been awarded continuous NHMRC funding since 2002.
